I have used a bjorn since baby was born and I now use a hip hamock since he is big enough for it.
Jude is 6 months old, 13lb4.5oz and 25inches long. He can almost sit up on his own. Is my son to big for a Peanut shell? Is this something for mostly newborns that like to be snuggled? Would it be more comfy than a hip hammock? (it kinda hurts my neck) I have a ERGO on order but haven't gotten it yet. I think my hubby will love it and use it alot. But I would like something small that I could stick in the diaper bag and pull out when I decide to use it.

Re: ???s Peanut Shell
Just wanted to say, I just got a peanut shell and really like it. It is not a stretchy material, but I like that it has a padded rail and a pocket. I use it for a hip carry with my 19 mos old.

Re: ???s Peanut Shell
I got a Peanut Shell when DS was about 4 months old and used it until he was about a year. Mostly I used it to carry him on my hips and he liked that position quite a bit. The fabric I got is a beautiful cord - not very stretchy, but worked well for us. It definitely outlasted the Baby Bjorn.

Re: ???s Peanut Shell
I only got my PS when DD was 6 months and only use it for hip carries. I thought it would be too small, but then I decided I LIKE it small. She's much more secure and I really feel like I can do two-handed tasks without worrying about her flopping around.
I definately recommend it!

Re: ???s Peanut Shell
Peanut shells go up to 36lbs! I got one when my DD was about 4 weeks old and I LOVE IT! I still use it and she's 14 months, and I can use it with my 3 year old DS too (he's a peanut!). I totally recommend it! I got the microfleece! Its awesome!
