Re: The Membrane Scrape

LOL.... my dear mother.. bless her heart--cannot seem to work her cellphone that she's had for 5 years "for emergencies"... she just doesn't use it, but she likes to have it, KWIM...

At any rate.. she works as an elementary school teacher teaching computers--so she's on computers all day every day. Apparently her cell phone rang (she NEVER keeps it on.. but is keeping it on nowadays ) but she couldn't answer it in time... so what did she do? She went to check her email to see if the phone call was from me saying it was "time". Yes. My mother antcipates an email on my way to the hospital. And the funny part is, I probably will---it would be a whole lot easier than waiting for her to figure out that high-falutin' cell phone domagigy.

Re: The Membrane Scrape

Sounds like you will have a baby in the next couple of days. maybe he will be a 4th baby! anyhow I had preterm labor and did not realize I was having contractions until the nurse told me I was @ 28 weeks........well I went to 38 weeks and when i had my contractions the night my water broke I felt like going to the bath room and did not want to eat at all because I was not hungrey maybe my body was getting me ready so I would not do #2 during the birth KWIM? anyways I had this urge to kneel on the ground and lay forward with my buns in the air and my breast to the ground to get the stress off my back and tummy. I HTH's
BTW never should have starved myself had a c-section and then they would not let me eat till I passed gas (I know TMI)

That's what i get for thinking ahead lol.

Good luck momma
hope he comes soon!

Re: The Membrane Scrape

I second the not not eating thing. I was STARVING with my first DD...they wouldn't let me eat while in labor and I was in labor in the hospital for 12 hours. Then after that it was a couple hours before I acually got food.

With my Second they told me not to eat(I was being induced) and I said "YEah RIGHT...LOL" I ate a nice big healthy breakfast for McDonalds on my way to the hospital. I didn't get sick or anything and it was a lot easier to labor without hunger pangs attacking me!!!

Re: The Membrane Scrape

I can understand that not eating thing either. When I had dd I hadn't really been hungry that day. I had a dr appt that day and had my membranes stripped for the second time. I went home and about 4 in the afternoon I was munching on a few cheez its, and my water broke. I wasn't having any contractions though. I got patosin to get them going. DD came at 12:03am and the first thing I asked for after everything was taken care of was food.

Best wishes hope your little guy comes soon!!!

Re: The Membrane Scrape

The worst thing for me (well, in the lines of food/hunger)...was they wouldn't let me drink! All i wanted was some ice water...and the best they'd allow me was ice chips...and very seldom/little at that...it was cruel! Then afterwards, they kept offering me soda, etc...I said, dangit..all I want is some ice water!!
