Amber teething necklaces - do you remove them for nap/bedtime?

I know you are supposed to remove the amber teething necklaces when babies go to sleep or are unsupervised. But I read in a few threads that some mamas leave them on during naps and/or at night.

Just curious what you do!

ETA: I accidentally typed "nursing necklace" instead of "teething necklace" - disregard the poll question, it's supposed to be "Amber teething necklace"

Re: Amber teething necklaces - do you remove them for nap/bedtime?

My ds has been wearing his daily since he was 6-7 months. He's 20 months now, and I've only taken it off once for him to get in chlorinated water. It's not a huge concern for me. He still sleeps with me and is not yet being too daring (ie: climbing trees) for me to worry. I wanted to get one for my then 3 year old dd too, but she's a little too adventurous for me to feel completely comfortable, so I decided against it.

Tharen is never actually unsupervised. He sleeps in bed with me and if he naps it is on my back or in my arms. So I don't bother taking it off. When he was tiny I would take it off for naps and bed, but now he is a toddler and I just don't bother. We have less fussies too.

Re: Amber teething necklaces - do you remove them for nap/bedtime?

When Jack wears his, it's 24/7. I've forgotten to put it on for a couple weeks now. He's not teething though, right now it's just on for looks and it seems to bother him lately (he's extremely sensative to things and I think he finds it "scratchy" for lack of a better word).

I let him sleep in it at nap time first, once I quit worrying, he kept it on at bedtime too. I figure if it comes off, then it takes a while to start working again when it's on. So I just leave it on 24/7 while teething.

Works awesome for ear infections too, btw!

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

Usually I take it off when she sleeps...but sometimes the magnetic clasp is underneath her, and she might be not-so-very asleep, and I'll leave it on!

I leave it on my 3 year old...he had to have one because his sister had one.

With my DD it is hit or miss. If I forget it stays on

They are necklaces made of amber beads that babies/toddlers wear during teething. They dont actually chew on them but the amber when worn against the skin acts as a natural analgesic (pain reliever).

DD has wore hers 24/7 since she got it.

Im not sure just how much its helping though because she is still a miss crabass, but Im too afraid to take it off and find out.

Both my kids have theirs on 24/7 - DD wears hers for teething and DS wears his for night time growing pains .... taking them off at night wouldnt make much sense to me! My son hasnt had any pains sonce we put it on (it was every night righ up until we put the neckalce on him during a pain at 3am) Its great for any pains and REALLY helps!

Re: Amber teething necklaces - do you remove them for nap/bedtime?

yes, but only because my dh insists she'll choke herself on it. I'd be perfectly content to leave it on her 24/7 but my dh is adament that she take it off. I have to admit that sometimes I might leave it on during nap when I forget and am just anxious to get her down. But always at bedtime it comes off. she's 30 months if that matters.
