how long did it take you to do the back-carry alone?

I'm a big fan of cueing -- I think it helps the child know what is going to happen and prevent the freak out. I cued DS when I first started backwearing him and started cueing DD the very first time I put her on my back, which was probably at about 4-5 mos. I use the hip scoot.

I started putting DS on my back at 3 months. DH helped me once and that was it. I use the hip scoot with my MT and the over the shoulder toss with my didy wrap. I still don't leave him on my back in the didy very long cuz I still don't feel totally secure with it. I am working on it though. DS will be 6 months 8/4. I am hoping to find someone IRL to critique me. I think that would make a big difference.

It took me a few tries, but I'm STILL having a hard time w/ a back-carry in my Storch wrap after almost a year! I just CANNOT figure it out!?

I just started doing back carries w/DH or older DC helping me. I can't imagine ever doing it alone. We have a hard time even with extra help. DD loves back carries, though.
