Heartburn anyone?

I never had problems with heartburn for my first three pregnancies, and now that I'm 21 weeks, it's decided to haunt me at night. It wouldn't bother me so much if it didn't keep me awake!

I usually take papaya enzyme or a few Rolaids, but they don't seem to be helping much

i got it bad with all of my pregnancies, i drink ALOT of ice water for instant throat burn relief, and i take 2 tbsp of mylanta supreme in cherries flavor, that ones actually good and tastes like marachino cherries for sundae's

with my last preg. I got bad heartburn about the time you are. I had to sleep close to sitting up, took tums and also Zantac. They all helped but nothing took it away completely. Its no fun!

I've been having horrible heartburn for a few months now. I sleep propped up on a bunch of pillows which helps some. I also take Pepcid AC which seems to help, but doesn't eliminate it completely.

I'm almost 36 weeks, and mine has been HORRIBLE
Tums don't work for me, so I had to get an Rx for Prevacid. They are timed release and they are the ONLY thing that I've tried that actually works.

Yes had it with ds1 and have it this time around too, I get it HORRIBLE and it starts early on and goes until the end...

I was told that if you have heartburn the baby will have a head full of hair, well it was right with ds1,lol and than I just read it in a parents magazine the other day that it was a truth, not sure how much research has been done but well see if this baby has a head full

I have had *severe* heartburn with both of my pregnancies (I have a hiatal hernia) and the only thing I have found that works for me is Nexium. I would prefer not to take meds, but at least Nexium is category B.

I forgot about Nexium! I was taking it before I got pregnant for reflux. I'll have to talk to my CNM about starting it up again. Thanks for reminding me!

I might borrow a recliner from my grandparents for a while to see if I can sleep in it and get some relief.

I looove papaya enzymes, but when I was pregnant, they just didn't cut it...neither did Tums, changing my eating habits, or "natural" remedies of any sort. But as soon as I started taking Pepcid COMPLETE (different than Pepcid AC), I was in a whole different worl. I felt SOOO much better, and I only had to take 1 a day (before I went to bed). It worked wonders.
