Question Long Road Trip

We are about to embark on our first long trip with 2 month ds. The drive in the past has taken about 10hrs. We are planning for a bit longer ride with the little one for diaper changes and such.
My question to you mommas: Does anyone have experience you can share? Using cloth while on the road? In the past I have just purchased disposables for road trips, but I would really like to not... Once we get to our destination, I can use cloth and wash & dry as usual.
TIA, Katte

Re: Long Road Trip

I'd def use cloth. It's easy peasy. I just take a real big wet bag or even a big pickle jar or platic paint-type bucket if you KWIM. Those can seal & be kept in the trunk. I'd be sure to have some fleece liners or something to wick moisture away from the bum since it may be longer than normal for changing. Try something thirsty for the trip - we tend to use our hemp OSFs for car trips w/a fleece liner.

As far as feeding... silly but to keep from stopping all the time - I have a sipper LOL Even for short 30 min trips I find myself just letting DH drive so I can sit near DS & I often just whip out a boobie and lean over his carset It's easy & better than stopping & unbuckling for what a lot of times is just a quick sip for thirst.

Re: Long Road Trip

We drove from VA to TX (24 hours) using cloth the whole way.
I just put dirty diapers in plastic walmart bags and then a trash bag to keep the van from getting stinky. I washed while visiting in TX. A wetbag would be more ideal but not necessary. I wouldn't stress out about it. Just pack all or as many cds as you can and go have a great time!

Talking Re: Long Road Trip

Thank you cd'g mommas! We are here and used cloth. I don't know what I was so worried about? It was fine.
On another note, I found these "old fashioned" cloth diapers. The tea towel ones (for lack of better description). My mom in law was telling me about these when she used cloth, so she was teaching me today how to fold them from preemie size up to toddler. You can double them and probably triple them if necessary. It was neat to learn more things about cloth!
