Hi, I am hoping for some help finding a good, soothing, and baby-safe breast wipe for the early days of nursing. I am due in 6 weeks and trying to get everything together.

I breastfed my daughter for 20 months. The start of it was rough. I had clogged ducts a few times and of course, sore, leaky and clogged nipples. I used breast wipes from The First Years and they seemed to help a lot. I had pacifier wipes from the same company and they seemed to have the same ingredients. They were available at Target at the time, but no longer sold anywhere around here, so now I have to order online.

Does anyone have any brands to recommend? I am open to try a few. Anything that might help to cleanse (especially sticky colostrum) and soothe. Thank you!

ORGANIC COCONUT OIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And if you get the refined oil, it has almost no flavor.

Lansinoh makes wipes. I've never used them. And now that I'm thinking about it I think most wipes are for pump parts.

I never used wipes... just massaged colostrum/milk into my nipples or used lanolin. I nursed DS until 19 months. DD is 2 1/2 weeks, and the first part has been a lot easier the second time around. Maybe the same will be true for you!

Also I've been glad to have my pump. Last time I didn't buy the pump until DS was a month old. This time I've pumped twice for a little relief.

I have heard great things about coconut oil for dozens of purposes, I need to get some!

The wipes are really best for the early days. They do exist! There are a few brands on amazon. No local stores carry them. Here's to hoping its easier this time. It's only been 6 months since I weaned DD.

I have never used any wipes, but I have used Earth Mama Angel Baby Nipple Butter and really like it. Also, those Soothies cooling gel patches are nice for soothing sore nipples. I think Gerber makes something similar.

I personally wouldn't wipe my nipples after nursing. I don't see the purpose. As for the soreness, I highly recommend the coconut oil, air drying and cotton nursing pad if needed!
