This is something Ive been thinking about alot. Would you donate your milk to a family that doesn't need it for a medical reason? Just because they want the baby to have BM but for whatever reason cannot provide their own?

Here's the deal, I fought with my supply from the time DD was 3 weeks old. I took all the herbs,pumped once an hour and ever 2 hours,drank tons of water and ate oatmeal...the whole 9 yards and I only produced maybe 1-1.5oz/day. I ended up doing whatever I could pump/nurse and chasing it with formula until a wonderful woman on milkshare donated me some BM. Now that Im literally days from running out and cannot afford to have more shipped in Im hating the fact that DD will have to go back on formula. It seems like all the donors Ive run across are only wanting medical need recipients...which of course should come first...but...

would you donate your milk to a mother that just wanted her child on BM because she didn't want them to have formula?

Yes i would...before ds was born i was hoping to be able to donate, but my body had another idea. i too fought with low supply (still do) but i am able at this point to satisfy my son. Good Luck finding that liquid gold!!!

yes! I wanted to donate but was turned down because I'm on blood pressure meds. It would be had on the premies but is safe for my dd

Yes. I would donate it b/c I think bm is always necessary. I've got a pretty big supply in the freeze right now (like 100+ oz.). If I met someone that wanted to give their baby bm, I would DEFINITELY donate it.

The only time I wouldn't donate it, is when the freakshow men post ads that they want the bm for ****** reasons...

I would, and have! We donated 5-6 gallons to a family who adopted a baby boy just around the same time we did.
Babies deserve breastmilk. If their mother can't provide it, then a donor's milk is second-best, and waaay better than formula.

In fact, we still have about 50 ounces left in our freezer that we forgot to include in the shipment. Do you want it? PM or email me and we can talk!
