Re: Poor Poor Celeste

How horrible! Poor sweet baby.

I would call the swing company asap and really lay into them. For many kids with SN, a fall like that could have seriously injured them! They need to know about the problem, they might need to recall them or something.

I'm so sorry your family had to go through that. I'd be terrified if something like that happened to Jackson and he would be able to brace himself a little bit even!

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

I know how freaked out you must have been and Celeste as well. Give her big hugs from us and hopefully you can fix the swing with sturdy chain? She might not want to swing for a while, but she might miss it too. She needs the break that playtime can give her and she needs to be relaxed. Maybe she can "help" dad fix the swing in the next few days so she can feel more secure?

Big hugs to you mama.

Re: Poor Poor Celeste

OMG mama! My son had a swing accident too. He was four months old and in an outdoor swing. My FIL had just put it up and apparently didn't put the right size nuts on the screws. One side of the ropes fell through and my son landed on his head. My MIL & I were at WalMart when I got a call that they were calling EMS. J ended up having a hairline skull fracture. It was the scariest thing in the world.

I hope and pray your DD is okay!

Re: Poor Poor Celeste

for you and for her and we're she really is ALL alright.

We dropped Alex when she was 3 weeks old. She fell from DH arms into a broken/breaking bowel on a cement floor. So I know how you feel right now!! Alex DID get full body xrays. But being so small all we knew was that nothing was broken Not if she had alignment issues. Not to mention she had seri strips on her cheek and eye brow. She still has a scar/bald spot in her eye brow. I think it was a week before I slept and I still get night mares and it’s been 9 years!!

oh sweetie, I welled with tears for you both. I *get* the "just trying to play" thing. I know Celeste is robbed of so many ordinary moments. The worst for me, are when my LO's PLAY hurts him. I think "he was finally just a boy smiling in the sun and now this" I'm sad for you both

Oh my.... how scarey! I hope your dd is feeling better today I can relate a bit to special needs dc just "trying to play" my ds is autistic so although its not as much of a physical issue for him (although he does have very very low muscle tone) it just breaks your heart when something that's supposed to be so simple and innocent as childhood play becomes such a great obstacle. Many many hugs to you and your dd
