Homeschool Help Please

Okay so right no we cant afford to put DD in a private preschool like I had wanted. I dont know if many people can afford it. The ones I found that were exceptable are $480+ a month for PART TIME.

I was homeschooled, and I have decided to give 'er a whirl.

What is a good program to follow for Preschool? And what do I need? Any advice? She is almost 3 so I cant do a huge thing I am guessing she probably wouldnt sit still long enough. But I am wanting to do something with her, she is so smart and I feel she would just take off with some type of structural education.

Any idea would be great. Thanks a ton.

You know what...just let your baby be a baby. She doesn't need pre-school. Just allow her to learn through play until she is ready for a cirriculum at Kindergarten age.
I'm reading a book right now called "Einstein Never Used Flashacards"...I highly recommend it! It'll give you a really good perspective as to what you should be doing for your DD at the moment.
My son is 4, and I've just joined a homeschool group. At the moment, we're in it just so my son can begin to build relationships with other homeschooled kids. He'll start a K program in fall of '08. He'll be 5 1/2 then. We're more than likely going to do a Charter School virtual academy. I'm really looking into CAVA.
Good luck with this journey!!

Yes! It is very important for me to let her be a kid. Thats why I am looking into something that would help me help her if that makes sence. I am not looking for something that is 5 subjects a day. Just basically for me, so I know what to do for her and how to "help" her learn in those daily activities.

I will definetlly pick up that book. I saw it at borders the other week but pick something else up instead.

Thanks mama.

My Early Childhood Education courses taught that the biggest benefit of nursery school is just to help transition kids for PreK/Kindergarten -- you can do this yourself.... At home, just play interactively & read to kiddo daily! I also suggest finding some local groups to set up play dates

etc.

Hi~ Way to go for wanting to HS your dd! I absolutely love HSing and my dd has done so well with it. I wouldn't purchase a curriculum for preschool but I certainly would take advantage of all the free sites online that exist. Here are some of my favorites....esp the Jan Brett site!

My son just turned 4 and we are doing the Christian Light education ABC preschool program with him. I actually just started it today. So far its great. We are going to do a couple pages a day. Also if you are looking for a book type thing, those big workbooks at walmart, are great as well.
