I started out using mine as a hanging pail, but I started having problems with the snaps coming undone when the bag was only half full. So, I started using it as a pail liner. I think it may be a condensation issue too. I'll be curious to see if it helps turning it wrong side out.

The shiny side goes on the outside, facing the inside of your pail. The poly material is the inside of the bag (the side with the hemp square). I know if I have super wet dipes in the bottom of my bag, it gets damp on the outside.

Anyhow, looks like mixed responses. It probably is condensation in my case, rather than pee (though I'd like to be SURE!) At any rate, I'm trying it shiny-side IN for this load, and we'll see how it goes. I've also been hanging to dry each time - I hang to dry the diapers and inserts, too - but I could put it in the dryer for a few minutes, I suppose, and see if that makes a difference or not.

Thanks everyone for all of your responses!!

Re: Have I been using my Whammie inside out? UPDATED

UPDATE: I tried my Whammie inside-out (shiny side in). It worked MUCH better. No leaking, no moisture on the outside touching me. I'll just do that from now on!

Re: Have I been using my Whammie inside out?

I just wanted to say that I've been turning my MOE hanging pail inside out or shiny side in the last couple of weeks, and it's been working so much better. Not only do we not have any wicking/sweating, but I also notice that it's much easier to lift the liner out of the pail when full. The shiny side would always stick to the inside of the pail, but the softer side just slides right out. I know these are made to use shiny side out, but it really does work better shiny side in. So glad I tried it!

Re: Have I been using my Whammie inside out? UPDATE POST #17

But if you put the PUL side in on the Wahmies bag, can you still put EO on the hemp patch for stinkies?
