Me too!
Most people just stare at me..although I did have one ladyr ask if DD was adopted and I told her that I stole her. She didn't seem amused.

That is so awesome! What a blessing that you will have milk for your adopted child! What a dream that is!!! Don't worry about what others think! You will be giving fantastic mama juice to two babies!!!

That is awesome. My mind can't even come up with anything (thanks goodness - who wants to think like that anyway). I am Indian and my DH is white and my DS is very light skinned - so I get stares all the time. They are probably thinking - why is the nanny breastfeeding that kid!

Just smile at people when they stare and say "isn't breastfeeding a beautiful thing"

Congrats on your babies!

When we take my niece places (she and my DD are just 3 months apart in age) tons of pp just assume she is ours. She is very obviously hispanic and my LO very obviously isn't.

We get asked if they are sisters/twins and got a few questioning looks at but people are mostly just curious and we have never had anyone be rude to us.

My Grandpa calls them Ebony and Ivory

Re: Bi-racial breastfeeding

My son is mixed, im black, but very lighter skinned and his father is white. My son looks white, and noone has ever said anything to me about the difference. If they had, i would jus tell them that Breast is best, no matter what race you are. And that you love your child very much, and race or skin color is not an issue.

Re: Bi-racial breastfeeding

I personally wouldn't have any reaction.. lots of mama's are having children with other races than their own. I wouldn't worry about it.. like what one of the ops said though, it would be funny to tape what the reactions of some might be.

Re: Bi-racial breastfeeding

me and dh are dark brown and i have a little yellow child with hazel eyes, i have had people ask me if her dad is white or hispanic, or my favorite "who's beautiful child is that???" but really its just funny to me. most people don't need any harm. i think it's most important how you feel. nursing is only the beginning, i'm sure you will have a host of other challenges to face but they will most certainly be far outweighed by all the joy! you'll be an awesome mommy... we all have the same white milk and red blood...
