That is absolutely beautiful! The ONLY thing that I could see people being offended by is the possible relation to nurse maids... associated with slavery. But...in my opinion, that is a beautiful picture! Perhaps I will be able to post a reverse of that picture soon!

people are to nosy these days , if it was me I'd say I found the baby in a dumpster and it looked hungry but thats just my sick mind thinking lol

the picture is awesome , but I'de love to se it the other way around , I agree with the pp that it may be taken wrong .

I think it's really, really cool and that you are doing a wonderful thing by providing a home for a little babe.

Congrats on the pregnancy and adopting!!
I just had my second boy and we are wanting to adopt in the future. I would really love to breast feed our adopted child as well but don't know how easy it would be to lactate like that. It has come across my mind to try and adopt while still breastfeeding our new baby. HOpefully he'll nurse for a good while.

congrats momma! i think it is wonderful. if you do get stares or comments, i dont think they will be in disgust, more like "wow, is the baby yours. how are you breastfeeding from adoption and ect. but shoot WAY TO GO!!!!!

I would say mostly looks at first especially if your dh isn't around (I am assuming you are both Caucasian?) they would probably assume the baby is just from a biracial family....but it may take a moment for that thought to come into their mind after their initial look of wonder.

Then again...most of the looks could be the same as just a look any bfing mom would get by that same person kwim?

You know honestly I can't imagine why people would feel the need to say anything....but of course it always happens. But if they did say something I wouldn't even explain a thing and just say "well sir if you really must know.......well it's really none of your business." I don't know I never know what to say to people. Honestly though don't worry about it if they do they do. Good for you momma and best of luck!

Move to Hawaii. I have so may friends w/light skinned babies/blue eyes and the mamas are dark and vice versa. Nobody questions skin color so much here. My kids are tan like their daddy and I am as white as can be. That is so awesome of you, BTW!

I think that nursing an adopted child would be a beautiful gift.
