Any Suggestions?

Hey everyone, I'm new here (see my post count! haha) and new to cloth diapering...in fact SO new that I won't be starting until October...or late September if I "pop" early.

Anyhow! I've been trying to stock up without getting too much too soon and was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions of other things to get or things to try. I'm going to include a list of things I've already gotten (or at least paid for that is) and things that I plan on getting. Any suggestions are really appreciated, I want to be prepared! I'd love some feedback from those of you who have already been diapering for a bit.

*I'd also like to say that I plan to use the CPFs as inserts later on.*

What I have so far (some are for NB some are small)
* 12 Chinese Prefolds (S - My mom got them)
* 1 WAHM AIO (NB)
* 4 Fuzzi Bunz (S)
* 6 cloth wipes

What I plan to get
* A few more Fuzzi Bunz (S)
* A Mattaqin or two (not sure yet, I want to get one and try it before getting more)
* Covers (how many should I get?)
* Snappis and Pins
* [maybe] Kissaluvs (anyone tried the contours? I was interested in them)
* Wool Soaker (how many should I get?)
* Hemp inserts and doublers
* Diaper pail/liners
* More cloth wipes

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps!!

3 dozen prefolds... yeap 3. Trust me you will use them

At least 6 covers. 8 is better.

2 dozen MORE wipes. I have 2 dozen and it really is NOT enough.

Fleece liners for the FB to keep them in tip top resale shape.

I know you have it but LOTS and LOTS of more wipes

Ummm...wipe solution? With a newborn you don't have time to be making your own...

How do fleece liners work? I saw some earlier for pretty cheap and thought about getting them but didn't know exactly what their use was so didn't bother. I saw some that were rolled up like toilet paper (^_^). But yea, let me know what exactly their for/how they work because I'm interested.

Lots of wipes. Got it. Right now I'm watching an auction on ebay for 28, so hopefully I'll get those!

Wipe Solution, I'll go add that to my list. I decided to make a huge list because I've heard stories about women who don't get nearly enough diapers or get WAY too many because they go auction/sale crazy in the beginning...so I'm trying to keep a nice tab of what I have going on.

Thanks CheaperByTheDozen and toryandrew

Re: Any Suggestions?

You need NB diapers unless you plan on having a very large baby like 10-12lber If the diaper is too big then you might have leaks.

Get some XS Fuzzi Bunz if you like them, with the inserts. Maybe a few "One Size" diapers and AIOs. I'd suggest you have about 36 diapers and about 6 covers.

Re: Any Suggestions?

They have prefolds for newborn sizes right? Okay, so like 3 dozen NB prefolds. Someone else in another place suggested the XS FBs so I'll be looking into that too. I knew that Small wouldn't fit right now, but figured I could just use CPFs with covers until they did, but I don't know for sure what size CPFs my mom ordered, and knowing her she got smalls. So that's why I just put smalls.

Okay, *makes notes*

Looks like your getting some good advice!

If you are planning on using the prefolds with covers. Make sure they are not too big for a newborn. There are several different sizes. When I bought mine for ds I got them too big and they wound up getting used as burp clothes instead.

LOOKS LIKE YOU POSTED THE SAME THING AT THE SAME TIME!!!LOL!!!!

Re: Any Suggestions?

Yes, they should. Just check the weight. I have cotton prefolds that say newborn, but my hemp prefolds say small. So it all depends on the brand.

Re: Any Suggestions?

Kissaluv0's for newborn fitteds but I wouldn't get many 1's or 2's I don't like them for my DC

Wool soakers - I would get as many as you want but be careful its addicting

I used BSWW when DD was little (around 2 months is when we started CD) w/ PFs

Maybe try some indian pfs (sorry thats just what I prefer)
Snappis and pins if you plan on using it like that

Like PP said NB diapers. My DD is 4 months and is still on the tightest snaps on her FB and is about 13 ish pounds.

Let me think some more
