Question ? for those of you who use ebay....

Is it kosher to ask a buyer to cover fees if they use a credit card on ebay? Thanks.

I don't think so. I have never asked anyone and have never been asked. i've also never seenit posted in a listing. I say include all fees into your asking price.

No. I think it is actually against paypal policy - I would have to look it up. Just part of the cost of doing business....

No, it is actually against pp rules to do so. It can end in your losing your pp acct. It is actually against the rules anytime, but since Ebay doesn't run boards, they can't really stop it.

yeah that. If you have a premier account and you have to pay pp fees either way, I think it's wrong to ask people to pay extra to cover fees anyway. I hate when people do that.

Just ask for funded pp? Is that against their policy?

You can always add a $1 handling fee which should cover the costs of c/c payments. I only accept PP and always have a fee since its a Premier acct. so its not a big deal. I don't charge extra because its usually less than $1 but I don't charge a $1 fee anymore. You can always request for them to do an e-check but I'm not sure if they charge you or not for those. I got one from a friend for some stuff I sent her and she paid that way, no biggy, it just takes way longer to clear.

Re: ? for those of you who use ebay....

I was just gonna say adding a handling fee is the only way aroung it. Ebay WILL end your auction if they notice you are refusing CC payments or asking for fees to be covered. --- they did it to my sister.

That is why we are seeing s&h charges going up. People can't cover the cost of the fees anywhere else. And with listings costing $.25+ and final value fees and PP fees being $.33+ Lots of people are adding $2-$3 handling to their shipping to cover packing materials, and fees.

It SUCKS as a buyer looking for a deal, but if you are selling something for $1 you make nothing on it after you pay all your fees if you charge actual shipping.
