EFA's

Is anyone taking EFA's in their third trimester? (Essential Fatty Acids) My chiropractor recommended them for a number of reasons. Cuts down on the chances of PPD, great for energy, overall health, it's supposed to raise baby's IQ up to six points, etc. I just got some today and haven't taken any yet. They're from distilled salmon oil and I'm supposed to take eight of them a day. He said to keep them in the freezer to cut down on the taste and take them all in the evening so I can burp them all night instead of during the day I hope I can get them down - I'm not a fan of fish.

Re: EFA's

Even when I'm not pregnant I take fish oil (cod liver oil in the winter) capsules. I also take mine at night and keep 'em in the fridge. Omega-3s are excellent for your health, pregnant or not! Also, near the end, my doula recommended evening primrose oil to "prime" the cervix - and my labor w/ Claire was over & done in about 5 hours, so perhaps it helped??

Sounds like another bonus to me!

Do you notice a taste? Or aftertaste?

Well, since they are capsules, there isn't any taste when I take them. If I end up staying up later than intended, sometimes I do get the occasional "fishy" burp, kind of yukky, but not really a big deal.
