Re: Friday is the day!
Thanks for the well-wishes. As of right now, I plan on getting an epidural first thing BEFORE piticon and breaking waters and whatnot. I broke my tailbone when I was a teenager (teens and skateboards are DUMB things) so the epidural sounds as though it will help with at least my tailbone pain. I haven't had any contractions whatsoever and no progress with dialation... so here's hoping that the pain meds and induction will do the trick! HOPEFULLY Sam's water will break on its' own... but I'm totally for getting done what needs to be done. Maybe after I experience childbirth the first time I'll have more... hutzpah...but for right now, I think I just need to listen to my doctor's that I trust.
Thanks again for the prayers!! |

Re: Friday is the day!
Congratulations and good luck! They're all right! Have the labor and birth experience that you want - that's all that's important! I can't wait to hear your birth story and see pics! Good luck again! I'm so excited you can finally meet him!

Re: Friday is the day!
I was induced with my first.and he broke my water at 3cm...it was all good
Had my baby boy within about 4 hrs! I went into labor naturally with my 2nd, but he still broke my water at 4cm. Birthed him about 4 hrs later too. I'm excited for you, good luck!Oh, not to scare you...but prepare you - the epi doesn't always work! You probably know that, but for some reason, that didn't occur to me...so I wasn't expecting all the pain. I think I would've handled it better had I entertained the idea. So I wish someone had told me And technically (according to the anesthesiologist it's not that myepi didn't work, it's that i progressed too quickly to feel any of the benefits....and he interupted me on the phone to let me know this...after I'd just birthed my first baby and was spreading the good news..weird.)ANYWAY, I'm sure everything will be fine and I'm wishing you non-c/s vibes

Re: Friday is the day!
Woohooo! So your next avatar will be your sweet little man! Awesome!
Ya know.. I get tired of listening to all the implications that people throw if a birth doesn't go "right". Like there is an owner's manual on how to give birth for all of us. I say if you want the epi's... get them. If not... that's your choice too! After my first birth, there is NO drug on this planet that I wouldn't pass up during childbirth. Call me a wimp, but I actually am allergic to pain. I hate it, I'm a wimp when it comes to pain and I don't mentally tolerate long periods of it. (talking shortest labor was 9 hours folks, longest 36). To each their own... and even in our day and age of advanced medical science, I still say the birth of a baby is a miracle and should be celebrated as such... not the birth method itself. Good luck to you, God bless both you and baby, and you will be in my prayers.

If everyone was the same the world would be a VERY boring place.

Re: Friday is the day!
Yay!! Todays the day, good luck mama!! I thought for sure he'd be here by now, stubborn boy (or body). I'll say prayers and am sending you no c section vibes
. I had one baby I went into labor naturally with and one baby that had to be induced. The only reason I feel it was so hard is because they took her a few weeks early and I wasn't thinnned, dilated or anything. Hey, if induction is what needs to be done then go for it and ignore the mamas that say otherwise. It's your birth and your body!! I can't wait to see pics!!

Re: Friday is the day!
OMG! I didn't see this yesterday. So you are already at the hospital hopefully in labor! I hope it's easy as pie for you. I can't wait to see your little man.
And FWIW~IMO-being induced is NOT the worst thing in the world. I enjoyed my experience completly and the doctor even broke my water for me. It can go either way
