Can we have a diaper fairy sticky?

For example, if I am in a financial quandry, can we do something like this:


Diaper wanted: Small newborns wraps and prefolds
Situation: Baby on its way and DH lost his job

or

Diaper wanted: Any side snapping AIO large with a natural liner (DS has fleece allergy)
Situation: We are broke!


If I have something that I would want to fairy, I could PM the person who posted and set up the fairy,etc. This diaper would be shipped for free.

I think this would be a good way for us to foster a great sense of family here.

The person in need would have to have a minimum posts, say 100, and be involved in the "community." Not just come here to get free stuff.

The stuff given can be in any usable condition. If you are having a boy, but really are in desparate need of covers, you would accept girly prints. When your LO has outgrown the diaper, you are responsbile for fairing another party. This would have to be on the honor system. Perhaps take a picture of diaper and post it the original post, so people can get an idea of what has been fairied.

I do this because when my DH was layed off from work, he painted the union hall everyday for $50 in gift cards from Costco. The general manager was such a kind hearted man, that he gave my dh $100 every day. That saved us from financial ruin. I just think it is a good idea to help out our fellow "man."

Suggestions, ideas, comments?

Oh yeah, one diaper per person, or two or three if multiples. There are FFS still.

It's been talked about before and not done on this board. I don't know that their minds would change now or whose responsibility that would be to decide anymore. In any case, I know it has been considered in the past.

This would have really helped a friend of mine who found herself in a tuff spot a whil back.
I was dircted toward miracle diapers.

I think he hard thing is being abl to decipher between those that arebeing honest and those that are not.

Maybe having a membership time/post/feedback or recomedation from another ember who can verify your status would maybe help keep the dishonest people out of the giving loop.

Other than that- I think it is a great idea!

Its actually in the works All we need to figure out is what kind of restrictions to put on it....how many posts, how long a member, etc.

What we'll be doing is maintaining need/want lists, and members can PM those they want to give to directly (holding onto addresses and giving them out is too much of a liability....this is the way it has been done elsewhere in the past).

So, yeah I'll aim to get that forum going this week

As long as us newer members can be fairies as well. I didn't know about this site for the longest time because I mainly make my own diapers but I LOVE making them for other people and am actually a sewer for Miracle Diapers so as long as the fairies aren't restricted, I think it's a GREAT idea! (I'm trying to get my post and trade count up, I swear! LOL)
