Prefolds Made Easy (picture tutorial)

well, this is the ONLY way I can get a prefold on either of my kids. I guess different folds work for different parents/kids. I hope if you are like me, and none of the tradition folds worked, this will work for you.

I call this the no-fold prefold technique lol.

Step 1:
Lay prefold flat, and have pin/pins or snappi ready!

Step 2:
put baby down on prefold. I prefer to put baby down on belly since she's just gonna try to roll over run away anyway, but you can put baby on the prefold the traditional way as well and this fold will work just as fine.

Step 3:
Fold Up over the bum.
(example one: im taking this picture myself and you can see she is already trying to take off!)

example two: different angle. during a different diaper change, DH takes pic and I gt two free hands to change my DD!)

Step 4:
Tuck top corners under baby.

Step 5:
Pull bottom corners over, and hold in place and get your snappi or pin/pins:

Examples of Snappi-ing or Pinning:
Snappi:

pin: (sorry i can only handle one pin!)
through wing one:

then through center (optional, but i prefer to if im going coverless), and through wing 2. then shut pin:
result:

AT THIS POINT LOOKS LIKE SHORTS... ONCE WE TUCK THE "LEGS" IN WE WILL GET ADDED ABSORBANCY WHERE WE NEED IT, AND IT WILL LOOK LIKE A DIAPER. HOWEVER, SOMETIMES I JUST LEAVE THEM LIKE SHORTS AND PUT THEM UNDER WOOL IF IM LAZY. OR LET THEM GO COVERLESS THIS WAY.

Step 6:
tuck in legs, all around the sides!

Final result:

from another change, pics of her sitting up with this fold:

pic of her standing with this fold (posted this pic earlier)

note from me:
im sure this is a lot like other folds final results, but i have tried EVERY fold, and for whatever reason, this is the only one i can get to stay in place right, fit this snug, and not end up with the snappi/pin handing on the "hinges" to hold the diaper in place.

Wow, that's a great idea. I can usually get a good fit the "traditional" way, but I might just have to try this and see if it works even better! Thanks!

Re: Prefolds Made Easy (picture tutorial)

you cant tell too much by the pictures but se was actually on the other side of the bed by the end of a few of those diaper changes. there is no way i could "fold" a diaper and then put it on her. i need something i can do while she is running (er, crawling) away LOL.

CUTE pf!!

And I feel the squirmy baby thing...sometimes I literally have to sit on the floor and put my legs over and around him to pin him down. I feel like it looks abusive, but seriously, he is FAST and STRONG!
