Re: LOL, I'm curious...

It did not happen to me. But when Emily was born the doctor says "She pooped on me!" I got all embarassed and told DH I couldn't believe that I pooped, then he informed me the SHE that the doc was referring to was Emily, not me.

Yup. Happened to me. It was just a tiny bit and the nurse came by and took care of it right away. I noticed it, was a tiny bit embarrassed, but at the time I had a baby coming out of me as well, so that was more important. LOL

Re: LOL, I'm curious...

It happens more often than it doesn't with my doula clients. Most moms are embarassed if they know, but it is so common and just part of the process that there is nothing to be embarassed about. I have no clue if it happened with DD1's birth. I know it didn't with DD2, but that is only b/c it happened when my water broke on the toilet as well.

Re: LOL, I'm curious...

My Midwife with DD1 said that it happens because the babies head is pushing it out, since there's so little room there while the baby is pushing out. Sorry TMI!

I will admit this happened to me, and I wouldn't have known if DH hadn't commented...why do men think you'll be amused by that kind of thing?

Don't worry, you'll be getting "floating goodies" out of your DC's bath water soon enough.

Re: LOL, I'm curious...

I did when I gave birth to my first. I was in a hospital for that birth. The doc had me pushing so hard and early on that it just happened and of course the nurse announced it to the whole room that was full of my family and MIL
It was embarrassing!
Luckily with my other 2 it didn't happen but it was on my mind while I was pushing lol

Re: LOL, I'm curious...

I know itis 100% normal. I didn't think it happened to me because I actually got out of the hospital bed to poop because I didn't want to poop on myself but I was talking to DH and my sis the other day and said something about how I was happy I didn't poop on myself and the look that passed between them said it all I guess I still pooped the bed even after going to the bathroom and I didn't know it until almost 3 years later. . . Anatomically it's totally normal, though. Baby just tends to press the right button on the way out if you KWIM.
