Re: LOL, I'm curious...

It hasn't happened to me yet.. but I think that's mainly because everytime I've ever gone into labor one of my first signs is that I start to have to go #2 over and over again.

ETA: You know now that I said that it's going to happen this time LOL!

Never happened to me, though with my twins (vaginal/c-section) I did toot when I was delivering my first twin. I was so embarrassed and apologized- can't even believe that that was a concern of mine at the time.

Very, very, very common. So common, in fact, that I know at my OB's office, you can opt for an enema prior to delivery. I think some of the doc's even requested it (none of the docs I had though, I was just terrified of the possibility so I had the enema w/ ds1).

Yeah, IDK why it such a shock, or why ppl would be so embarrased. How can you not poop when you're pushing so hard?

Re: LOL, I'm curious...

never happened to me. I tend to self-clean when I am in early labor (my body does it not me) so when I am in labor, there is nothing there. I'm 0/3 in the pooping department when having a kid.

Re: LOL, I'm curious...

Yep. Happened to me, only a little bit, and I never would have known except later DH told me. He knew it was normal, nobody said a word, and honestly even if I had known I wouldn't have been a bit embarassed by that point. All modesty and pride goes out the window, you know? And the docs and nurses are used to seeing *everything*.

Ditto!

With DS, my water broke before contractions started, and in that hour bewteen the two, I was off and on the toilet constantly. I figured I had completely voided everything by then... but nope. Still a little bit of poop... and my labor was less than 3 hours. My DH is another who likes to tell me all about... or tell others about it I know it's nothing to be embarrassed about.. but men!

Re: LOL, I'm curious...

The only time I think I did was after my longest labor (DS2). I know I peed the first time I pushed and I probably pood too.. I dunno. But as far as the peeing, that's what happens when they have you on IV fluids!

With my others, my labors were pretty short (5hrs or less) and my body cleaned itself out before labor began, so no I don't think anything 'snuck out' when I pushed.

Floating goodies!!
