Re: Natural deodorant that actually works, anyone?

Ok, I reported a while back that I had purchased the Naturally Fresh Crystal deoderant at Target. It seemed ok in the beginning, but it didn't really work all that great for me. Dh still likes it, but I was back in the market for a good natural deoderant. I found Kiss My Face Peaceful Patchouli and tested it yesterday for the first time. We went on a picnic and I was chasing ds around, then our house was so hot last night but I didn't stink. Even this morning!

I use Jasons (I think it is apricot that I have) and while it isn't as good as the bad for you kinds it does work, I just have to apply it twice a day. I can tell it is better for me though because it doesn't leave that coating under my arm that I used to have to scrub off with aface cloth. Even the ones that touted at being good for black clothes did that to me, applied sparingly too. This one doesn't do that! love it!

I'm on the look out for a good natural deo as well and WAS interested in trying the baking soda but after looking it up on the Cosmetic Database it lists SODIUM BICARBONATE with a rating of 2 and Cancer is checked. So wouldn't you still want to stay away from it in this case? I know that is a low rating but there are others listed as 0 with no concerns of cancer.

I use Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal. It has Ammonium Alum in it which apparently is a winner. I've heard there are two different types of mineral salts in crystal deodorant and ammonium alum seems to get the best reviews. It even works as an antiperspirant for me. Not completely but it I do notice it. It works better than Tom's. With Tom's I felt all slimy AND I still smelled AND after two weeks it burned the heck out of my pits.

Tom's of Maine doesn't work that well for me (I have to reapply) but I SWEAR by this stuff!

I've been using Earth Science Tea Tree and Lavender Natural Deodrant. So far it works well but it's not summer yet ...I've also tried alot of them and either thay don't work, or I react to them, the crystals seem to work, but they make me SUPER itchy. This stuff works well so far

I think that people just get too hung up on it. i was talking to a couple of other moms a few months ago and one of them was commenting on how she couldn't find anything that worked but her complaint was being wet not the smell. I just don't understand it, I mean you're supposed to sweat and sweat is inherently - wet. It's like people just don't want to be human anymore, they want to be photographs.
okay?!? So you honestly like to sweat and get wet??? Seriously???
