I want to know about this too. I had dd1 vaxed until she was 2, and am not getting her vaxed anymore. DD2 hasn't has any and won't be either.

Re: WIC and vaxing??

I had to bring a blue card (vax record in Alabama) with my first...this go around, we are delaying vaxes, but we also aren't getting WIC.

I would say get a note from your Pedi and if there is a prob/they ask for proof, then give them that!

Re: WIC and vaxing??

Some offices are cool and just say, bring it next time and will keep saying that. Some have Public aid nurses there ready to give the shots! This is especially common in really low income out laying or spread out areas (boondocks/hills/country) or where there is a high # of illegals (Mexican migrant workers).

I’d be on the safe side and get a Dr note. If you don't want to vax and don't want to fight them. I've heard of offices where they ask if you'll let them take the DC to go get a book/toy and they come back with them vaxed!!! I do vax my kids and I think this is very wrong and deceptive of them!!

When I got on WIC just last week they made no mention of it at all , didn't ask me to bring it or if I had brought it .

Re: WIC and vaxing??

When in the process of setting up WIC they told me to bring my vax record to 1st appointment. I said "umm... I'm selectively/delaying, do I have to vax?" They told me it was used for identification purposes only and that a social security card/birth certificate would work just as good. Never been asked about it since. They can't require you to vax to get WIC. They CAN require you to fill out exemption paperwork.

Re: WIC and vaxing??

In the county where I work, they will only give the mommies one month worth of vouchers if their child is not fully vaxed or is behind on shots. And they give them some serious h.ell about it. I hope this is not the case for you.

Re: WIC and vaxing??

in FL you get a waiver from th health department and provide it to anyone asking for vax records, wic, daycare, elementary, etc. they have to accept it.
