prepping prefolds, decorating and washing info needed please please.

I am new to cloth diapering (baby isn't even here yet) but I have some new prefolds coming and I need to know how many times to wash and dry them to have them ready and also do you use soap everytime or what?

I also want to make my prefolds cuter how do you add fabric to decorate them and what fabric is the best!!!!!

one more thing how do you wash cloth diapers.....I need to know what to do with them right from the removal from child to pail to washer and dryer, and what to use. THanks.

I have a variety of pockets, covers, aio's, and fitted.

I don't think you can prep something too much. I just use dawn to wash my dipes with. I don't have a super wash routine. I do a cold wash with a squirt or two of Dawn(the Original), baking soda, and some Bac-out. I do an extra rinse. Then depending if I have washed things with PUL(HH, FB, Thirsties covers) a few times I throw them in the dryer to seal the PUL again.

As for making them pretty, I have been dying up a storm. I used Dylon and they get nece and bright. I plan on adding some flannel to make them even cuter!
