Toddler eating habits

How much does your toddler eat? My 14 month old has been pigging out these last few days. She had a tummy bug last week and even when she felt better she didn't eat much for 3 or 4 days afterwards. I'm assuming she's making up for lost time but I don't want to overfeed her.

Today she's had:
Breakfast- 8 oz of milk, one whole banana, 1/2 cup of cherrios
morning snack- one and a half containers of no sugar added berry-applesauce
lunch- 3 baked chicken nuggets, 1/4 cup of green beans, 1 hot roll, 6 mini teddy grahams (serving size is 50! HAHA!)
I always have water around for her to drink

Its been a little over an hour since she had lunch and she's standing at her high chair looking at me yelling bite! bite! I just don't want to overfeed her is all. Does this sound like a reasonable amount for a 14 month old?

Re: Toddler eating habits

Thats less than my kiddo eats, so I wouldn't be worrying. He eats almost as much in one day as I do!

I don't think it's possible to over feed a toddler. They will eat when they're hungry and quit when they're full. As long as you're feeding them healthfully and a variety of things I'd say it's perfectly fine : )

I agree! There is no way you will overfeed the toddlers (with good stuff I mean!). They'll stop eating (even having desserts right in front of them) if they're not hungry anymore. So, I'd say you don't ahve to worry about it. I'll be very happy if my DD eats like yours does! :-)

Thanks, that is good to know. I just gave her a snack of 2 full graham crackers and a stick of cheddar cheese. When she's eating so much I start to run out of ideas for healthy snacks.
