Twin bed tips?

We are getting ready to move DD (17mos) into her twin bed. She climbed out of the pack-n-play at my mom's last weekend, so I don't want her to try it with her crib and fall.

So far I have:
1--super childproofed her room
2--bought a bedrail

Should I take the crib down right away or leave it to fall back on? She loves to sleep and go to bed--still taking two naps a day, and tells you when she wants to go, so bedtime is not a fight at all.

The bed has been in her room since day 1, so she's played on it and climbed on it for a long time now.

Any tips on making a smooth transition?

Thanks!

Re: Twin bed tips?

If you have space, why not leave the crib there for a while (just in case). I initially put extra pillows/cushions beside the bed. Good luck! Hope that you have peaceful nights.
