Haba toys ??

Does anyone have any of these ?
How do you like them ?
How do they hold up ?
Where did you find them ?
Which are your favorites ?

DH and I are REALLY tired of all the freakin lead based crap and have been looking into the Haba toys for quite some time now, but with Christmas and bdays coming up we are wanting to buy some, but I wanted to hear how well they hold up to an infant and 4yro.
And which ones you love for your kiddos ??

Re: Haba toys ??

We have one. lol. I love it, Jackson didn't care for it at all. BUT, it was for about 6m and under and he was 11 months when we got it. So I think age was all. I packed it away for the next baby. We have some other things from the Oompa website. A wooden kitchen, and he adores the stuff that came with it. Carries the forks, spoons, salt and pepper shakers, etc. around with him. He also has really liked his Melissa & Doug toys, but I feel like those are kind of cheaply made. Still, he plays with those more than anything else.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

we have some. I like that they aren't painted like melissa and doug toys but are "stained" instead with vegetable based stains. They are proving to be quite durable

We have several of them that we purchased from www.turtlesdreams.com (She's a WAHM!). They have held up great. We have everything from the teethers to the blocks. All look as great as the day we bought them. I will probably save them for my grandkids (which I will have a long long long long long long long long long time from now LOL). Seriously though, I can't say enough good things about Haba.

I'm looking into getting some too because of the china madness. Even our Melissa & Doug toys were mad ein China (and are painted so it concerns me a little).

I totally didn't know that M&D were made in China...I just assumed they were made here.

I didnt know that. DS has a M&D Firetruck that he ADORES and its not so well made. Its not sanded very well, the paint is all runny and splotchy.

The fact that the Haba are made with the veggie based stains make it all that much better.
