Re: Haba toys ??

Some M&D toys are made here, others in China. I emailed them about it and they said they do frequent inspections and have stringent oversight. I'm still a little uneasy about it.

Re: Haba toys ??

I've found Danish/Scandinavian and German toys well worth the money. While I seldom find them at garage sales, I do seem them sometimes on sale at various other places. They last forever and stimulate creative/independent play.

All the Scand./German toys I have still look good as new and I expect to keep them for visitors long after my LO (and LO-to-be) has outgrown them.

Plus they're cool. I hide away all the plastic toys ... but the wood ones stay out! They're decorative!

Re: Haba toys ??

MAJOR RAVE for Haba toys. I think DD has more Haba stuff than any other brand of toy. She loves the rattles, we have one that is a little flower bouqet on a wooden ring that has been the favorite by far. There is also a rattle called the "klapperwurm" that is really cute and she loves that too. Haba also makes great playmats, though they're $$$! A good thing to ask for from grandma/grandpa.

oompa.com has tons of Haba stuff as well as other great wooden and natural toys.

Don't bother with NFB. They are going out of business. Big shocker there.

But HABA toys are great.

Re: Haba toys ??

Have multiple HABA toys - both infant age and up through preschool games, etc - and they are VERY well made, last very well, and we are thrilled with them. Picked up a couple more baby toys with the NFB clearance last night. I am SO not surprised that it's virtually all gone now!

HABA is definitely pricey, but totally worth it, IMO. It encourages me to buy a few really good things, rather than lots of so-so things! M&D makes some "similar" baby toys now, but the quality is severely lacking when compared to HABA.

We have several Haba toys and LOVE them! I usually find them online - Amazon, oompatoys, several diaper stores sell them, too. They are so unique and not like the mass-marketed junk that you normally find out there.

Try one - you'll love it!
