Is there an order to teeth coming in?

My dd (10 1/2 mo) has two lower teeth (inscisors) that came in a month or more ago. We thought that all 4 of her upper teeth were coming in at once because we saw a little white up there and she was a bear! However she only got the eye tooth on the left side and it has sort of stalled on coming in. There is no sign of her top inscisors or the other eye tooth. Anyone else experience that?

Teeth come in no order. Lots get the in a similar fashion, but it's not set it stone. She'll get them all eventually.

My favorite is the kids that get the eye teeth before the front. Cute little vampires. lol.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

I'll see if I can find a picture to post of my youngest. She broke the mold on the teething order in our house and got her "vampire teeth" after the bottom two. The two front came in by 6.5 months and she's working on two more bottom ones right now.......yeah, that's gonna be 8 teeth in eight months if they come in by the 28th.

And yeah, it was pretty cute when she just had the vampire teeth!!
Especially because she would use them to teethe on my chin.......

Re: Is there an order to teeth coming in?

The baby books all list an order, but they never come in that way. We thought Tharen woudl get his canines first, but then they didn't come in. He got one tooth up top, then one down bottom (oposite incisor so they didn't even meet) then a couple more up top and then down bottom. Then for some reason he got in his 2 year molars all of the sudden at like 15 months, but didn't get his canines. He looked so silly for a while. He just finally cut all four of his canines in a week or so at 20 months.

Ok, this is all I could find and you can just barely see one side tooth, but it was really cute!

Ok, here goes try numbet 2.
I hope you can even see it in this size.

Re: Is there an order to teeth coming in?

My son got his first 2 (center bottom) at 14 1/2 months!! I thought I had done something to cause a birth defect while pregnant About a month later he got the two on either side of those, plus the four center top teeth (in 10 days). Then he got all 4 of his first molars (gaping holes where canines were not) two weeks after that. About 2 weeks later he got his top canines. 5 months later his bottom two canines cut through the same day.

Re: Is there an order to teeth coming in?

One of our baby books lists what teeth they're supposed to get at what age (of course, not set in stone like pp's have said)...ds1 was pretty close to text book as far as order goes, but not age to get them..he was a somewhat slow teether...he didn't get his 2 yr molars until he was almost 3yo. Ds2 was a really slow teether until about 18mo and then a whole bunch came in all at once..but his didn't come in the 'correct' order. His LAST tooth (after 2y molars) was one of the canine's. He had the other 3 and all the other teeth..took forever for that last canine to come in. It actually came in just a couple of weeks ago.
