Re: Music in the delivery room?
Well, DD was born in a Birth Center instead of a Hospital but yes, we had music!
I chose some native american Drum Circle music as the primary. The deep, rythmic drum beats helped me focus on my contractions, and get in sync with my breathing...and it happened so naturally with the music on. It was an awesome help during transitional labor (when the contractions are right on top of one another). For the last part of my labor, and the birth, I had ENYA playing. Their voices are just soothing to me. It was very calming and relaxing. Believe it or not, between pushes I was falling asleep!!!!!

Re: Music in the delivery room?
I voted no... but only because my labor was so fast that DH didn't even have time to get out bags out of the car until after that baby was born.
I fully planned to and will try again this time around. I brought my favorite church music that brings me such peace....

Re: Music in the delivery room?
I did, but I made an mix & loaded it on my ipod ( I effin love that thing) Dh bought it and a little speaker system to hook it up to for me cause my birthday was a week before I had ds & he knew I wouldn't even thinking about it. So I had all kinds of songs I picked I thought would be good laboring songs. Dh put "Push It" on there as a joke, we was all laughing -until the pain got worst! But it was really sweet of him, think i'll go give him a smackaroo just think how sweet that was back then.

Re: Music in the delivery room?
I wanted music. DS ended up being a planned C-section due to some things. I had it all planned out, I was going to have a water birth with Pink Floyd playing. Instead I had a c-section in a operation room with no music at all.

Re: Music in the delivery room?
I had my ipod all loaded up with hypnobabies and over 300 hours of tunes and I didn't use a bit of it in 27 hours of labor!

Re: Music in the delivery room?
I listened to classical music (mostly Ultrasounds and other baby-friendly CDs) burned onto my iPod. I used it thru most of my labor, but ditched it at delivery time (was too busy screaming to care
The music and a lavendar heated neck/back pillow were all I had to get me thru the back labor and double peak ctx

Re: Music in the delivery room?
We weren't at the hospital long w/ the last one either b/f he was born (less than an hour). Getting music out...gave dh something to do though. Of what dh brought, Enya was my choice. It was great!
