Re: Music in the delivery room?

Yes...we started off that way...and then it got sooooooooooooooo annoying that it was shut off very quickly.

Soon as baby popped out, dh turned on some soft lullaby music. It's sooooo sweet watching those first moments after the birth with mama and baby meeting, and hearing a soft lullaby in the background.

I listened to a CD of classical piano concertos. Very relaxing.

Re: Music in the delivery room?

I wanted complete silence when I was in labor. Like that was going to happen. I figured I'd get annoyed too easily with whatever I brought. I wanted to kick DH out when he fell asleep (he was awake for the important stuff).

I had instrumental hymns and worship music as far as I can remember.

Nope first time was just too busy with everything else going on, lol and he was 7 weeks early so I wasn't ready yet. The second I wanted to, but he came way too fast for that.

Re: Music in the delivery room?

I had some packed
, Motzart, Debussey, and other classics, but never thought to put them in when the time came. Better to have them ready and not want them, then to wish you had it.

Re: Music in the delivery room?

I made my "labor mix" tape with all my favorite praise and worship songs. It's 4.5 hrs long. Oy.

My first two were music-free, but they had the radio on during my c/s's. When Abby was born they were playing Rich Mullins' "Step By Step" - one of dh's favorite songs. Pretty cool.

Re: Music in the delivery room?

I had a relaxation cd...can't remember what the name is, but I bought it specifically for my birth...I had it playing during my contractions at the birthing center then I went to the tub and there was no cd player in the bathroom...so I settled for candle light and silence! It was beautiful!
