Help with protein

Bleck. I am sickened by meat right now. I gotta get some protein, but eggs are getting old fast. Help me with some alternatives (I do not like soy).

Re: Help with protein

I am not a huge meat eater so I have been eating a lot of peanut butter and also beans. Both are really good for protein.

Re: Help with protein

Ok , copy and pasted this a while back and can't remeber the actual values but ....

PROTEIN IN GRAINS: Barley, Brown rice, Buckwheat, Millet, Oatmeal, Rye, Wheat germ, Wheat, Wild rice

VEGETABLE PROTEIN: Artichokes, Beets, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Green peas, Green pepper, Kale, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Mustard green, Onions, Potatoes, Spinach, Tomatoes, Turnip greens, Watercress, Yams, Zucchini

PROTEIN IN FRUITS: Apple, Banana, Cantaloupe, Grape, Grapefruit, Honeydew melon, Orange, Papaya, Peach, Pear, Pineapple, Strawberry, Tangerine, Watermelon

PROTEIN IN NUTS AND SEEDS: Almonds, Cashews, Filberts, Hemp Seeds, Peanuts, Pumpkin seeds, Sesame seeds, Sunflower seeds, Walnuts (black)

Also you could try a simple protein shake mix and make a smoothie a day with some mixed in it , quiet a few pg mommas I know have done this to help pick up their intake .

Re: Help with protein

Find Dr. Bradleys book and a pregnancy diet called the BREWER PREGNANCY DIET. Its not a diet-diet (i.e, to lose weight) but it puts HUGE emphasis on protein. Gives you some amazing sources of protein in foods, as well as really easy ways to tally how much you're getting. Its really simple! And totally worth it!
