Does anyone NOT do a 3 cycle wash?

Wash cold, wash hot, extra rinse. That's the way I was taught to do it (on-line) and have always done it. But diapers have changed so much since I started! They used to be mostly internal soakers and some of them were so darn thick. Now the majority are pockets, quick dry, or thinner thanks to better material soakers (not 6 inches of terry, lol!). So is there a simplified laundry routine? Or is the old way still the way to go? I'm tired of waiting on my dipes to finish when I have loads more laundry to go.

We don't. We do a cold presoak and a hot wash. Our hot wash has a cold rinse cycle.

I do more than that, but I can't wash in hot. So I tend to rinse alot more and add tto. At my mom's I did a cold rinse, hot wash, then cold rinse and that is how I'll do it when we move.

I do a cold wash, no soap (instead of a cold soak since I don't have that choice on my washer) and then a hot wash with Charlie's Soap or Sensiclean. I have a high capacity washer and usually wash when I have enough for a medium load but wash on large load so I feel the get well rinsed in one wash.

I do a hot wash/cold rinse & sometimes an extra cold rinse. That's it, plenty clean. I couldn't do that before we got the water softener though, lol. I use prefolds/pockets/wool.

I do cold rinse, hot wash, cold rinse. I periodically do a second hot wash to avoid any stinky build-up.

Re: Does anyone NOT do a 3 cycle wash?

I skip the first cold rinse I use a hot wash with detergent and Calgon. Once it's agitating I turn the dial to warm rinse (only available on the warm wash cycle, go figure) and do an extra rinse.

cold rinse, hot (or warm) wash, cold rinse. I alternate between warm & hot...I guess sometimes I forget if I leave the dial on warm when I do the other laundry...lol
