Fluffy Newborn Adventures *with pics*

I took pics today as I tried all the newborn fitteds I have to find out which snap setting to use for quicker night time changes. I only have enough nb fitteds for night time, and use prefolds with a snappi during the day (not a fun night time combo). All are from fsot!

My ds is 4 days old here, 9 lbs. and 19 inches.

NB Swaddlebees on largest setting:

Kissaluv 0 on smallest setting:

NB Mutt (front-snapping) on second to smallest setting:

NB Mutt (side-snapping)on smallest setting:

NB/Small Tykies on medium setting:

Infant Indian Prefold with old style snappi:

Here's some wool shorties I made:

And here's 9 lb. newborn measurements over a snappi'd prefold:
Waist: 16"
Rise: 10" below belly button, 11" above
Thigh: 8"
Inseam: 5" for longies

I got the tykie for $5 and I really like the fit! My only complaint about the kl0s is that the sherpa is not very soft anymore. The velour mutts and sb are so much softer (and more absorbant) for a newborn. The mutts are the most absorbant and are great for night time. My only complaint is that the umbilical snap-down could be a little lower, as they still rub against the cord sometimes.

My question is...why doesn't anyone make a wool cover with an umbilical cut out (like a wool prorap)???? This would be a great idea for some sewing WAHMs out there! I'd love to wrap up an unpinned prefold that would be far from the cord. Fast and easy!

I hope this helps some pregnant mamas out there! I was wondering all of this stuff before the adventures in newborn cding began!

As soon as the belly button heals, I'll be back with OS fitted pics!!!

Awww! I love it!

I fully expect a 9 #er, my other two were 8,8 and 9,1. He looks ADORABLE in those shorties, and I love the fit of the Tykies. I also know not to get any NB Swaddlebees, much as I love them, I've heard they run small.

Which is your favorite?

are you using the prefolds coverless during the day or what do you cover them with?

He was 8 1/2 lbs at birth, but is growing quick!

It's really hot here, so I've been using prefolds coverless during the day, and just change them when they feel wet. A lot of the time, especially the first 2 days, I just layed him on top of a prefold with a recycled wool blanket underneath, or just held a prefold around him unpinned to catch everything!

ETA:I will be using more wool as soon as the belly button is healed!
