Question for Parents of Multiples

How quickly did you know that you were pregnant with more than one baby?

Were there any early giveaways?

I am 8 weeks pregnant and I really feel like I am having twins. My uterus is up high where is should be for 15+ weeks of pregnancy. I had HCG counts done when I was just a few weeks pregnant and my numbers were tripling instead of doubling. I had implantation bleeding with my first pregnancy, then again with this one. But this pregnancy I bled for 2 days instead of just a couple hours. I am also far sicker than I was while pregnant with my son.

My grandmother was the last woman in my family to have twins, but almost all of her sisters gave birth to a set of twins (one sister never had children).

What was your experience? It's killing me to not know! I have an ultrasound a week from Thursday. I guess we will know then!

For me, there was no ealy giveaway. I found out via US when I was 8 weeks along. I was showing at that point, but it was also my 2nd pregnancy. I've heard that you show faster in subsequent pregnancies.

I've heard that, too... but I had no idea it was this much faster! I could be, though.

I didn't have any early giveaways either. I was showing by 8 weeks, but I was quite slim, so that may have made a difference. I found out at my 9wk u/s and it was after that that my symptoms started. It's been my only pg, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but going by what friends say, each of their pg's were different, so you can't really go by any of that. Good luck at your u/s!

I had no early clues. My first u/s showed only one baby at 5 weeks...7 weeks when I went in for a second follow up u/s there were two babies.

I have since had a singleton and let me tell you I showed faster with her and was waaayyy sicker with her than the twins. Each preg. is different.

Well maybe I am only having one! I'm fine either way. I have a 15 month old--so even with a singleton birth, I will still have two under two! uterus almost up to my BB just weirds me out, though.
