How many of you conceived while BFing?

I am becoming concerned that, even though I have a cycle, I am not ovulating. It's very erradtic, as are my mucus symtoms. And it seems like the more DD nurses in a given stretch of time the longer my cycle lasts. She's 20 months old, BTW.

I'm still nursing and I am 10 1/2 weeks pg so my lo was 22 months or so when I got pg. We weren't trying but were talking about when a good time for #4 would be and then I turn up pg!

I've conceived 3 times while bfing. I get af back right away, but it takes awhile for my cycles to normalize. I take B6 which helps lengthen the luteal phase and that really helps. YOu may want to look into Vitex (chasteberry) as it regulates your cycles.

I also got pg while bfing...my cycle came back at 5 months pp, and I got pg right away when we trying when DS was about 11 months old.

We conceived DS #2 while #1 was 9 mo. My cycles started up 3 months pp even though I was full time bfing.

*raises hand* I did! It took me a few months, but I wasn't charting either. Finally, one month I decided to chart and see when I was ovulating and that month we got preg!

It's entirely possible to continue to have anovulatory (no ovulation) cycles as long as you're breastfeeding. It's not likely that it will be every month, but you probably are having them.

I've gotten pregnant 3 times while nursing. It is possible, but it can be tricky. Your body may exhibit signs of ovulation or not, and you may ovulate.. or not. You just never know.

The best way to get pregnant while still nursing? Have LOTS of sex.

Me! i gotten pg twice now while BFing - the first pregnancy ended in miscarriage, DD was 9 months old, i was having VERY long cycles (60days+) and nursing like 12 times a day .. 2nd pregnancy DD is nursing 5-6 times a day and is 17 months old .. i started having regular cycles around 15 months.. i also took b6 to help with my LP and have been charting since AF returned almost a year ago.. (6.5 mo pp)

If you think you're not ovulating, i'd try charting.. it could be that you're not Oing or possibly that you have a very short LP ..

I didn't get AF back until 15 months post partum, so it's been about 5 months.

***fingers crossed*** Today is day 16. I has some fertile mucus on day 14 and then dry again for two days. But we're having lots of sex anyway just to be sure. DH is happy!
