Ants everywhere

We've been so very hot the last week and today will be no exception, that I think we will have to bomb our home after it cools down. We have these little ants everywhere, no matter how much I clean.

Maybe we'll go away on Friday night if I can find a cheap hotel on the beach.

Re: Ants everywhere

Try some "Terro"... you have to put it out and let the ants take it back to the nest. It's the only organic thing I've found that works.

You can make your own out of boric acid and sugar syrup, too.

Re: Ants everywhere

Check for hiding spots too. We had ants last year and they were living in the bottom of our coffee maker I put the water in the fridge one night and saw a line of them walking up the side of the coffee maker. I flipped on the light and saw that they were crawling down into the water container (where you put the fresh water pre-brewing)...they crawled through the hole in the bottom and had a whole home inside the base! We picked up the whole thing and about a gazillion ants and babies fell out of the bottom. B A R F It was so gross. We immediately threw the whole thing away and cleaned up. We've only seen a straggler here and there since. Did I mention ?

I feel your pain!! They are HORRIBLE this year! OMG....in the coffee maker....Ewwww! Stupid ants! Mine hide behind the couch, by the door and in the kitchen even though I keep it dry and clean. UGH!

Can you buy Terro @ walmart? I'd be afraid my toddler would carry it around though

Re: Ants everywhere

ew. I had ants 2 times this year, hundreds!! I killed as many as possible with shoes and my fingers... then I took out the raid and sprid wherever I thought they were hiding. I am not crazy about chemicals but I am even more sickened by having ants EVERYWHERE in my kitchen around food.

I had to do the whole, kill everything, spray w Raid 2 times... but now no ants for months.

BTW I don't like Terro cause its a gooey liquid, right? I also don't liek the little boxes cause ti takes hours to work. spray raid has a little straw and kills them instantly. get at walmart or target

Re: Ants everywhere

We used baking soda when we had ants earlier in the summer. We just sprinkled it right on the floor. Don't ask me how it works but it did!
