Re: VENTING! my husband travels too much and I'm feeling sorry for myself!

My DH has been out of town for work most of this month. This time it's for two weeks So I can relate - my family always seems to be busy when he's out of town and then wants to plan family get togethers when he's in town - I don't think so.

Good luck mama and lots of to you!
I do need to slow down and take it hour by hour too. It can really be a test of patience! I have been online looking at any possible activity around our area for us to do!

My DH travels a lot too. He'll be home Monday after being gone 3 weeks. Some days are tough.

Re: VENTING! my husband travels too much and I'm feeling sorry for myself!

me too.
im so glad to read this post today, b/c i have been close to tears all day.
my dh works out of town every week mon-thurs.
sometimes..most the time i feel like a single parent.
he is soooo busy right now with a big project at work. i didnt talk to him at all yesterday but for maybe 2 minutes to yell at him and tell him what a horrible father/husband her is. and i havent spoken to him today at all.
his phone has no reception in the building he works in..and frankly, he sometimes puts work first and just doesnt "check in".
he is a great father..wonderful provider. im just..upset i guess.

i feel so alone sometimes..like now.
o.k. now im crying..
im leaving for school now...my dd is with her grandma. hopefully things will get better.
sometimes i feel like his work is a mistress that i am in constant competition with.
and i feel lonely alot.

alright..cheering up now......

Yep, this could be me, except my DH is military. I can't tell you how many times I've yelled at him over the phone for something over which he has no control.

Yep. Mine travels all the time too. His boss is acting like a big hero these days because he's been keeping my husband close to home now that I'm nearing my due date. And because he's giving him two whole weeks of paternity leave after the baby arrives before he puts him back on the travel schedule. There are a couple of big jobs coming up soon in the Philippines and Argentina and I'm sure my husband is going to get stuck with all of them. And when they send him overseas, he goes for three weeks at a time. The last couple of times he was in SE Asia were particularly fun....he was in Thailand for the governmental coup and all those bombings....then he was in the Philippines right in time for that Category 5 typhoon and all cellular phone service was knocked out so I couldn't get a hold of him for three days. And then there was the time he was in Guatemala when they had all the mud slides. Yeah. Gotta love being married to a traveler.

I just keep telling myself "That which does not kill you makes you stronger"...

I tell myself that as well, and it is so very true

Re: VENTING! my husband travels too much and I'm feeling sorry for myself!

I feel lonely a lot. I'm a single mom, so I never have someone else around. I just hope those of you who have light at the end of the tunnel (ie - your hubby will be coming home later, or your family lives close by) can appreciate it. I'm sure it's hard, but imagine never having that joyous re-union to look fwd to... The outlook becomes pretty bleak sometimes.

I lay in bed sometimes, and think - I do X,Y, and Z for DD to take care of her. I take care of the house, I take care of the bills, I take care of the cats, I take care of the plants..... who's going to take care of me?

My Hubby was gone Monday morning before the sun was up & he is still not back. It really makes me sad sometimes. I can't wait until we move to NC & he officially starts his new position, he will be home more then.

I really don't know how you Military Moms do it. I give you so much credit.

I love enchiladas! Any leftovers!?
