Yep, I am doing this now since I don't have enough mama cloth and the disposable pads were really irritating. I had to change every hour on the hour the first week when using the preemie prefolds, but they actually worked better for the postpartum thing than they did on my now over 10lb 3 1/2 week old, who by the way can soak an infant prefold pretty quickly.

I was wondering if these shift in your panties or are they ok? I was thinking of using preemie pfs as regular mama cloth, but wasn't sure how well they stayed where they belong.

I dont use pfs but when I use something without a liner I put a disposable pad or pantyliner underneath. I use the super thing ones so it does not add bulk, but it will stop the leaks

Glad to hear more positive reviews of these for PP use. I got a dozen from the PF coop and was really surprised how small they are! I also got a dozen infant PFs (to help with fills - no particular plans for them), so I guess I'll be able to try both. The preemies look like a nice comfy size, but just not that big or absorbent, kwim? I'm wondering if I won't want the infant PFs in the first few days, at least. I also have some other WAHM-made mama cloth, but have never used any before.

I did this. I put a disposable pantyliner in, and then a preemie pf on top. I only had to change the pantyliner when I changed panties, it was just to create a moisture barrier. And oh, those soft, soft UBIPFs felt SO nice after having just given birth! Much, much better than a plastic pad.
