Re: How many pairs of cloth nursing pads?
I had 6 pairs. I usually only went through 3 or 4 before washing them. I washed them with the diapers every other day. I used the disposables for the first few weeks in addition to the reusable, because I leaked so bad....I had to change every hour, so it would have been impossible to keep up with washing! I used the Gerber ones with my first 2 children, but got MOE stay dry pads with ds....well worth the extra money!! And I am one who had to use them until ds weaned, if he looked at me....I leaked!

Re: How many pairs of cloth nursing pads?
Wow! I was planning on getting Lanacare wool nursing pads, and I though I only needed 2 pairs...Looks like I might need to re-think *that* strategy!

Re: How many pairs of cloth nursing pads?
I have 30 pairs of reusable nursing pads. Don't think I'm insane. I buy them when I find them on sale, because at 9 months into nursing I STILL leak like it was the first day my milk came in. Also I keep ruining the dang things. I set 6 on fire in my microwave (I only had 6 and was trying to dry them out.) and about once every load of laundry one gets sucked against the back of the dryer and burns. So yeah... I have a lot, but I haven't had to buy any disposables in a long time.
