Unhappy How long should I expect a buyer to wait for a package to arrive?

Two DSers each purchased individual diapers from me, and I shipped them both the very next day. It's now eight days later, and neither have received their packages. I'm getting worried that something has happened. Granted, there was the holiday and a Sunday in there, so we're really only talking about six shipping days for first class mail, but still. I've mailed a few packages since then that have already gotten to their destinations, so what gives?

I've been in contact with both of the buyers and have told them I will refund their money if they don't receive their packages. But how long should I expect them to wait before issuing a refund? How long have YOU waited for a package before? I have no idea what a reasonable time frame is.

I'm fairly new to DS, and I feel absolutely terrible about this. And of course, I'm an idiot and didn't get DC on either of the packages. So who knows where they are, or why they're taking so long. But I've never had the USPS lose mail before - I just trust it's going to get where it's supposed to be going. Guess I've learned my lesson the hard way and will always get DC from here on out.

I think its unreasonable for the buyers to assume they are lost after one wk... the mail can be slow at times. I would wait atleast 3+ wks b/f Iwould even think of refunding. Even then I would be hesitant.

if you have dc numbers, then they need to wait three weeks.... furthermore, if you are planning to refund, you need to have the oppertunity to f/u with the po which I believe us 30 days.

Yes they should have had dc, but you know that now but they should NOT expect their items yet, its to early even with dc....I would have them wait atleast a couple weeks before refunding

I would never refund until just before the 45 day mark when they could file. Mail is taking a heckof a long time these days.

I waited almost a month. I was working with a very sweet momma. The day that she was to send me back the money, we found the package. I was so happy that it was found. I think the PO hides boxes sometimes!!

I agree. 8 days is way too early to start worrying. I'm sure the packages will arrive.
