Oh, the indigestion!
So, I finally figured out that the feeling of fullness in my upper tummy and the consistent non-stop burping is indigestion
![]() This is miserable. I can't even eat a stinkin piece of buttered toast without it repeating on me for the next two or three hours. I dont see my Midwife til Monday, but Im not sure how much more of this I can take! I lay in bed re-tasting my food into the wee hours. How grosse! I've tried TUMS....didn't do much. Any of you ladies suffering with indigestion? Any suggestions on how to curb it a little? THANKS! Advertisement

Re: Oh, the indigestion!
Had it horribly bad w/ both DS's so bad that water gave it to me! I ended up taking a high dose of Zantac b/c I would be crying it hurt so bad if I didn't. I know you shouldn't take stuff when prego, blah blah, but It was worse than the pain I went through after my c/s. GL I know how horrible it is! (it was prescribed by my doc and is now OTC in a lower dose

Re: Oh, the indigestion!
Oh I feel your pain. For my first pregnancy it hit. I had never had it before, it was horrible. I did use Tums, ate smaller meals spread out through the day, and ended up sleeping with 3 pillows. I definitely cut out any snacking before bed. It always seemed to hit when I laid down. Nothing took it away completely but these things seemed to help quite a bit. Atleast I could get some sleep. Hope that helps

Re: Oh, the indigestion!
I took zantac 150 pills.. they helped a little.. but my dr said sometimes.. it is your gullblatter... it acts up during pregnancy .. so I went in .. and sure nuff.. that is what it was.. and was GONE.. ( pain and funk out of my gulblatter ) when I had will ... it was nuts.. and she said that you know when it is more than heartburn when you feel like you cant breath bc it is in your back

Re: Oh, the indigestion!
i had it with my last pregnancy and its just starting up now.. i found that i had to really avoid certain foods (onions.. i totally can't eat onions while pg) .. i would try to eat something mellow like dry cereal a couple hours before bed to cover up whatever i'd eaten before that.. i kept tums by my bedside, brushed my teeth 50 times a day and i slept on a mountain of pillows practically sitting up .. this time i plan to sleep in the recliner

Re: Oh, the indigestion!
I didn't have it until about 20 weeks with ds, but with this one I've had it since about 8 weeks. I take Zantac 150 every 12 hours and its a miracle! I've also read that drinking milk or eating yogurt can help, but nothing helps me except the zantac!
