What could this be a nickname for?
DH and I have been tossing around the name "Ella" although we haven't told hardly anyone yet.
What could "Ella" be a nickname for besides Isabella?

Although the nn would probably be Ellie...

my daughter is ella mae. i love love love the name ella!! you can name her ella and call her el or ellie for short. i think origionally ella is short for ellanor. good luck! ella is a great name!!!

You could use it for Elizabeth also. A little spelling stretch, but if you stick with it folks will catch on.
Oh -- or Gabriella! That would work for sure.
