gift ideas please

Im suppose to go to a 1st time moms baby shower and she wants to breastfeed and i want to make it successful for her as possible. I went to a LLL meeting tonight and the topic was actually how to get the word out about LLL. So im looking for some ideas on things i can get her.

i know
the womanly art of breastfeeding
names and numbers of LLL leaders and meetings in her area

anything else?

(i dont know this mom personally, its a friend of a friend type thing)

This might seem too obvious but I love my boppy pillow for breastfeeding! Also, some lanolin maybe?

Re: gift ideas please

Are you doing a gift basket? How about nursing pads, lanolin, the boppy a pp sugested (of course won't fit in the basket....)

I made a onsie t-shirt with this written on it:

Breastmilk did this to me!

and I got SOOOO many compliments on it! I can't find the picture I have of it, but it was super easy to make (t-shirt transfer paper, etc.)

How about a breastpump? Even a small manual or battery operated one for the car or whatever. I use a small manual pump for all my pumping, and having a small one makes it easier to bring with me places when I know I might have to pump for relief, etc.

I ditto the lanolin and nursing pads. There are also cooling gel pads that can be used for sore nipples and I really liked these. You could get an pretty bracelet (I like the ones with elastic i.e. no clasps) and call it a nursing bracelet. Then I would throw in some of the gerber diapers b/c they work pretty well as burp cloths. All in all not too expensive and pretty helpful.

Re: gift ideas please

I really like Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple butter as a gift. It worked a lot better than lanolin for me. That same maker has other breastfeeding items too, but I've only tried the nipple butter.

I hope this isn't spam, but I sell a lot of nursing necklaces to be used as gifts and they are very enthusiastically received since they are pretty for both moms and babies. There are a variety for sale on HC.

I second the nursing necklace, I love mine.

nursing pads, a nice water bottle, nursing braclet (there are lots of types)
rechargable batteries of you get a battery operated pump....

I am sure you will come up with plenty of ideas, you have a great start already
