I spent the same amount but got a LOT more food for the first 10ish weeks of doing this (I'm using Grocery Game). Now I am spending less. I spent $59 Tuesday for $160 worth of products. If you want to stock up faster you will spend more than usual. I do not stock up on anything that is not a rock bottom price.

How many people are in your family? Depending on that and where you live it may be quite difficult to spend less especially whe buying fresh fruits nad veggies and meat. Not that Im saying those things are bad! Just more expensive in the short term.
