have a feeling my bundle is going to be tiny...wondering....

okay so i'm thinking he's going to be 6.5 lbs or less. he's not taking up nearly as much room as my others did and by "feeling" him from the outside he's pretty little right now, compared to my other two at this point in time.
i have plenty of preemie pf's but i'm wondering if i should get some preemie covers or not? and if i should how many should i get?
what do you mama's think?

my little guy was 6 lbs 4 oz... I had him in smalls and nb covers. I def. wouldn't do preemie stuff... it'll last about two weeks I think. I never had a prbolem with nb covers...I think proraps nb size is 6-10 lbs.

I think you shouldn't get many preemies at all, they grow sooo fast out of that.

They grow so fast! The first few days or so if you're nursing you don't even need covers, and I'd think preemie stuff would be outgrown so fast.

I can only speak for proraps premie covers - I got a few just b/c it was a package deal w/premie covers & PFs... they said 2-6 lbs but I used them until about 12 lbs, but he wasn't a chub like my first DS. I needed them just b/c of his build.

I used Green Earth nb covers (they are very similar to Prowrap classics) from a little over 5lbs to about 11lbs with my girls. I'm glad I never went preemie since they wouldn't have lasted even a month & my girls were 2lb-ers.

Re: have a feeling my bundle is going to be tiny...wondering....

i got some bummis original preemies and mine was 7lbs 4 oz, but she had the tiniest waist and butt, so the nb proraps and bummis would slide off. there were a few times i was glad we had those covers on b/c she was a HUGE pooper, but we only used them for 2 weeks.

i'd buy like 2 and only 1 dz preemie prefolds... and that's it. we washed every day or every other day for about 2 weeks, and then she started to fit into bigger stuff. just two covers and a dz prefolds is not much investment, and IMO it's nice to have dipes that aren't hanging off of them even if it's only for 2 weeks. the preemie prefolds are then awesome when your non-nursed boob is leaking, or for spit up, or whatever. also, the bummis original preemie fits awesomely, and it's low rise, so the fact that it doesn't have an umbilical scoop is irrelevant. jsut my 2 cents.
