Unhappy What can I do for overlanolized wool?

I used too much lanolin on a pair of recycled wool shorties. I washed them again using just baby wash but they're still really sticky even after they dry. Did I ruin them forever or is there a fix for this? TIA!

Try washing them in warm water with no soap? Hopefully someone with more experience will answer you soon. I always feel like my wool is not lanolized enough.

If you use them it will wear off because the acid in urine will erode the lanolin away. They surely will not leak at all. Maybe use them for nights for a bit and see if it helps. Otherwise I am not sure. Lanolin is hard to remove without hurting the wool by other methods. Someone else may know more.

A bit of dishwashing liquid in the water. That should strip it all out, but then lanolize again, using less If your wool is light colored, avoid dishwashing detergent with funky colors as the dye can adhere to your wool.
