Re: Will Pregnancy make my baby wean?
I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and DS is 11 months old. If anything my supply has increased...it is weird because I was told that it was going to decrease and disappear eventually, but we are still nursing 8 or more times a day, and my breasts have been super full and I am having to go back to wearing breast pads....

Re: Will Pregnancy make my baby wean?
My daughter(28 months) nursed throughout this pregnancy. Didnt slow her down at all, though at the end I kind of wished she would.

Re: Will Pregnancy make my baby wean?
Both of my boys were about 2.5yo when I got pg, and both times my milk all but dried up by 8-10 weeks. But they still nursed some throughout my pg and a few times afterwards (although they both were weirded out by my milk when it came in).
I'd be too scared to risk a pg before my babies were old enough not to be dependant on my milk. My experience is not uncommon, according to the RL mamas I know, and going by what my midwife has told me. I wish I was one of the lucky ones with tons of milk throughout my pg, but I'm not.

Re: Will Pregnancy make my baby wean?
Don't worry about your LO weaning because of pregnancy (although once you get there, you might wish it would happen, LOL!), the BFing rule of supply and demand still works during a pregnancy. I've heard some LOs don't like the colostrum at the end, and that it gives some toddlers loose stools.
Depending on your baby's age and if you're offering solids or other nutrition, you may not even resume normal fertility cycles for over a year. And you can always do NFP when you get off the pill! |

Re: Will Pregnancy make my baby wean?
My little one didn't care that I was pregnant and I know many others that didn't care. You could also look into the book the Art of Natural Family Planning so you can delay things a little bit without any hormones. When breastfeeding I don't start my cycle until a few months after starting solids, so at least 14 or 15 months.

Re: Will Pregnancy make my baby wean?
I will also look into natural family planning. Good idea!

Re: Will Pregnancy make my baby wean?
My milk dried up when I got pg - doesn't happen to everyone though!
