Contractions all day 6-8 mins apart...

....they arent really painful, and I went to the Dr yesterday and was still only 50% effaced and a 'finger tip' dialated. What gives? I mean its been ALL DAY! I have been drinking water all day and still its happening.

I'm wondering the same thing. Had a false start last night (ctx 4 min apart, lasting 45 seconds and definitely painful) and they stopped after 2 hours. I feel yuor pain. I hope this is it for you!

You poor thing, well I guess we can both say the end is in sight right? And maybe I should stop timing them because a watch pot never boils and I am getting eager

With my second labor, I had mild contractions all day long from 3am to 8pm...then I went from 5 cm to 10 in one hour and he was born at 10 pm!

My friend who has taken a bunch of doula classes showed me how to do it without an internal check! When you have a contraction, the uterus gets hard like a rock...in early labor it will be just the top of the belly that is hard, and by 10 cm, the whole belly is hard, all the way to the bottom of the belly. When it is hard halfway (to your belly button), that is 5 cm. So you can estimate by feeling how much of your belly is hard during contractions. From what she told me, it is always right on!
