could be ovulation causing a drop. or it may just be that you're just not noticing your let down as much anymore. i know i feel mine more strongly at some times than others. just make sure you're getting plenty to eat & drink.

Re: Am I drying up???

RE: letdown- I never felt "letdown" with either of my first 2. I finally felt it with my 3rd- but only for the first couple of weeks before that tingly feeling disappeared. I wouldn't use just that as a reason to feel like your supply had dropped. Go more by how she's eating and peeing/pooping.

Re: Am I drying up???

I thought the same as you are feeling about the same time as you are. When my son was like 8 months old, I stopped feeling let down at all. I was scared because I wanted to keep nursing a lot longer! I researched and let down has nothing to do with the amount of milk that you have or don't have.

About the water. I would caution you to not drink too much water. Drink when you are thirsty but when you are done, stop. That can lessen your milk supply also. It has something to do with retaining water. I forced water when my ds was little because I thought it would help and I was cautioned by my lactation consultant not to do that. Drink what is healthy to drink DON'T FORCE! Check it out. I am not sure if kelly mom has anything on it but I am just letting you know.

Good job for you Mamma that you have been going this long! Don't give up! Her health will thank you later.

I noticed that you mentioned her teeth. Have her open wide and her top teeth should be the only ones touching your breast and it shouldn't hurt. Her bottom ones should be covered up with her tongue, if she is latched on correctly. You will be able to see if that is the case if you look at your breast after she is done nursing.

Just FYI: My son was EBF until he was 6.5 months old and still nurses now at 21 months.

I have questioned my milk supply a few times too..but I think it's fine..I looked into Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle, but also decided against it, b/c I'm asthamtic and Fenugreek can worsen asthma symptoms...
I eat a bowl of Oatmeal before bed and I always notice a difference within a few days. HTH!

Instant is fine. I eat the maple and brown sugar instant, and it helps pretty quick

Re: Am I drying up???

Is your little one fussy after you finish nursing? That's how I knew my supply was going down. I never felt much let down but he always seemed satified and stopped nursing when he got full. About a month ago he would nurse and nurse and nurse and nurse and finally just give up and scream. I started supplimenting with a bottle cause my supply never came back up but I still nurse 3-4 times a day.
